Job Search Jump Start!

It all starts with messaging that serves US!

  1. Know Your Goal

    1. Especially in this crowded job market, it’s imperative that we know exactly what we’re looking for, and to get out of this next career chapter. We have to know what we want before we can tell other people what we want!

  2. Create Messaging that Serves YOU

    1. Own your story, understand the big picture through-lines and patterns. Hone that story in a way that makes the path from your expeirences into this goal (^^) seem like the natural and obvious next step. We can’t expect a hiring manager to connect the dots for us, but instead have to tell them that this is the role for us and why.

  3. Own your Impact Statement

    1. This can be the most daunting part, but is also the most satisfying to really nail. You need to lead all of your collateral with a big impact statement that shows what you do at it’s best. The rest is just proving this bold statement out.

      1. Example: “I sell the most technical products to technical teams”

      2. Example: “I build brands that people see themselves in and become lifelong customers and advocates of”

  4. Get the Message Out!

    1. Use this messaging across all job search collateral. When we say collateral - you’re ready to really hit the ground running in your search when you have these ready to go:

      1. Resume

      2. Linkedin (this is important, and it’s ok to copy/paste from your resume)

      3. Bio (this is a short snippet to pass along to your network that makes it really easy for them to pass your info along)

      4. Portfolio (not always applicable, but never hurts)
