WATCH: ABCs of DEIB Pt. 1

Last week we had the opportunity to have our Sr. DEIB  Program Manager, Katherine Castro, lead us in a three-part workshop on the DEIB basics. We covered three touchpoints:

1. Vulnerability

2. Definitions and Naming 

3. Cross-Cultural Communication

1. Every audience will take news differently based on their lived experiences

2. Vulnerability is recognizing that our own experiences aren’t a complete representative, doing our research to understand beyond our own knowledge

3. DEIB (diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging) work is ongoing, and never complete. We need to approach it like an athlete - building our muscles constantly through practice

4. Starting on a DEIB foundation is wanted and needed by you, the start-up community.

5. A 1 hour per workshop was an excellent experience for you, and that's more of what you want!
