NOTE: DEIB = Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging
While a popular buzz word - "DEIB" is a vast concept that's readily applicable across our organizations. We'll build a foundation through an exploration of Vulnerability, Definitions and Naming, and Cross Cultural Communication.
Katherine Castro is a renowned facilitator, licensed counselor, and currently works at Hustle Hunters as the Associate Director of DEIB. She's build these 3 sessions out of years of applying DEIB themes within companies like X Moonshot Factory (part of Google's Alphabet), and more recently with early stage startup teams that are looking to weave DEIB across the foundations of their businesses. She's presented on these themes to audiences of hundreds and is looking forward to this more interactive session where we'll begin to apply the concepts we're learning during our time together.
As startup leaders, we're often responsible for ensuring that our workplaces are diverse, inclusive, equitable and that our teams feel a sense of belonging... in addition to the 500 other things on our plates.
Especially without formal training in this area, it's hard to know where to begin and how to do more good than harm within our organizations. We've designed these sessions to help solidify the foundations of this work, as well as dip into themes and tactics we can start exploring immediately in our own journeys and work.
This is the chance to ask questions, learn the basics, and get equipped to start diving deeper.
These 3 sessions work well together, but also stand alone, so join for what works in your schedule!
